Everyone would like to think God is on the side of their own political party. They believe God would vote the way they do. God is neither Republican nor Democrat.

We should remember the attitude of Donald Miller in Blue Like Jazz, "I didn't think that Jesus agreed with a lot of the policies of the Republican Party, or for that matter, the Democratic party. Jesus was a religious figure, not a political figure."

As long as both parties are not God's chosen representatives, Christians from both political parties Should discuss their disagreements instead of just reacting to each other's ideas. The issues our nation is facing at this time are vital to the health and well being of each one of us as Americans. We need to be looking at where the Bible does stand on the issues that face our nation. We need to be involved in the political process that elects those who we feel will best represent our beliefs as Christians.

Let this t-shirt open up the door for thoughtful discussion, not just biased quarrels. But, while God does not favor one party over another, Live Offensively finds it more difficult to understand how any Christian can support a person who openly endorses a holocaust. The democratic platform today supports abortion rights. That is why the back of our t-shirt says "definitely not a liberal democrat." If a person finds no value in human life before a human is born, why would they find value in human life after? How can I trust a politician to be interested in the education of our children, if he isn't even interested in protecting them from death before birth.

In summary, "Christian" is not, and never will be synonymous for conservative republicans and is definitely not synonymous with liberal democrats. We agree with James Dobson when he said "For the rest of my life, I will never cast one vote for one man or woman would kill one baby." If we are going to transform a nation we must pray and vote to end the shedding of innocent blood.
